Scott Blackmun is in his first full season as the Chief Operating Officer of the Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG). He is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of all AEG business units.
Prior to joining in AEG in February of 2002, Blackmun spent three years working for the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), serving most recently as the Acting Chief Executive Officer. Appointed to that role by the USOC’s Executive Committee in November of 2000, Blackmun led a management team that developed the organization’s first operating plan with measurable objectives. Prior to that assignment, he served as the Senior Managing Director of Sport Resources, where he was responsible for all sport operations. In addition, he worked as the Deputy Executive Director and General Counsel, where he assumed interim responsibility for most USOC operations during the CEO search process.
A partner with Hogan & Hartson LLP from 1994-98, Blackmun opened that Washington, D.C.-based law firm’s Colorado Springs office. His practice focused on acquisitions and sponsorship marketing. From 1982-1994, he worked for Holme Roberts & Owen, a Denver-based firm.
A graduate of Stanford Law School in 1982, and Dartmouth College where he graduated summa cum laude in 1979, Scott Blackmun lives in Santa Monica with his wife Ann and their three children.
