Craig Grabell, President & CEO

Craig has over 25 years of experience building successful companies within the orthopedic industry. Craig joined Game Ready from Medacta USA, where he served as the CEO of their US organization. Prior to Medacta, Craig was the CEO of PLUS Orthopedics, where he was responsible for all US operations. He served earlier in his career as the Vice President for DePuy Orthopaedics, managing approximately $135 million in annual revenue.


Matt Bouza, Senior Vice President

Matt has more than 20 years of experience in various leadership roles in the orthopedic industry. Before joining Game Ready, Matt was Vice President of Sales for the Northern California division of DePuy/Synthes, a Johnson & Johnson company, managing over $110 million in annual revenue. Previous to his role with DePuy, Matt served as Managing Sales Director for Smith & Nephew in both trauma and joint reconstruction divisions within Northern California. Prior to working on the corporate side of the industry, Matt was President of ProJoint Medical, a distributor for Sulzer/Intermedics, a Swiss orthopedic implant manufacturer.


He holds a Bachelors degree in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley. Post college, Matt played for nine seasons in the NFL, primarily with the Baltimore/Indianapolis Colts. He spends most of his leisure time with his family, wife Marianne and his four children who were raised in Indiana and the San Francisco Bay Area.


Arlene Alvarez, VP, Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance

Arlene has over 18 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs & Quality Management, Engineering, and Manufacturing in an FDA- and ISO-regulated medical environment. She has worked for organizations such as Siemens Medical Oncology Care, Philips Healthcare, and Celera Diagnostics. Arlene has experience in the development and maintenance of various Product Technical Files and Design Dossiers, FDA 510(k)s, Health Canada submissions, and various global registration activities. Arlene graduated from City University of New York, City College with a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering.


Tomasina Barton, VP, Marketing

Tomasina has over 15 years of experience in business leadership in strategic and tactical marketing, product management and corporate education. Her career prior to Game Ready was primarily as a Business Manager responsible for Marketing and Education with The Bemis Company, a $4 billion corporation, working with major consumer and medical brands such as Smith and Nephew, Procter and Gamble, Walmart, and Nestle.


She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, two Masters Degrees in Marketing and Internet Marketing, and a postgraduate qualification in Corporate Education. In her leisure time Tomasina enjoys driving her racecar on the track at Sonoma Raceway.


Mark Lowe, VP, Engineering

Mark is a mechanical engineer with 20 years of product design and development experience, including 12 years in the medical device industry. During his career, Mark has designed products from conception through manufacturing for CoolSystems, Life Measurement, Compass Product Design, and Switch. Mark is inventor or co-inventor for three patents and 10+ patent applications in the area of medical devices.


Cindy Kumar, VP, Finance

Cindy is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of California. She has over 20 years of progressive finance and accounting experience. Cindy’s background includes experience working as an auditor for KPMG Peat Marwick. In addition, she has held senior managerial positions at Pacific Bell Wireless, BEI Systron Donner and TriNet Corporation.


Joe Kanefsky, VP, Sales, US

Joe has more than 15 years in the sports medicine and rehab industry. Before joining Game Ready, Joe served as a regional sales manager for Henry Schein in their special markets and sports medicine division. Prior to working on the corporate side of the industry, Joe was the head athletic trainer and clinical instructor at Barry University in Miami, FL. Joe holds a PhD in higher education administration and management and his master’s degree in athletic training and movement science. He is a board-certified athletic trainer and certified strength and conditioning specialist.


Kelly Hansen, VP, Sales, International

Kelly started her Game Ready career as a key contributor in the Marketing Department and now runs the growing International team. Her broad sales and marketing skills include account management, channel management, lead generation, brand development, and digital promotions. Kelly received her Bachelors of Science degree in Consumer Science from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Outside of work, Kelly enjoys an active life running, swimming, hiking, and biking with her family and friends.


Amy Waterman, VP, Operations

Amy has been part of the Game Ready team for 8+ years. She has held positions within a number of cross-functional departments and has been integrally involved in scaling the organization through its tremendous growth period. Amy’s degree in Economics helps her thrive when problem-solving diverse business challenges.


Joseph Coite, General Manager

Joe has more than 20 years of progressive and extensive medical device experience. His product knowledge includes catheters, orthopedic and capital equipment, and life sustaining products. His previous positions include senior management roles for AlterG, ZOLL Circulation, Coopervision, and Cardinal Health.


Anathayee Heyward, Director of Contracts and Provider Relations

Anathayee has more than 10 years of experience in sales, marketing, and vendor relations. Prior to joining Game Ready, she has worked in various management positions for companies including Informatics Holdings (Singapore) and Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina. Anathayee is passionate about aligning Game Ready with the right partners who will help us achieve continued growth and success.


Laura Elders, Director of Human Resources

Laura is a skilled human resource professional with over 13 years of experience in recruiting, wage/hour laws, employee relations, conflict resolution, and benefit and leave administration. Prior to Game Ready, Laura has worked for top companies such as APT, Ltd., and Lincoln Finance Group.







Roger A. Strauch, Chairman

Roger Strauch is chairman of The Roda Group, a seed stage venture capital group based in Berkeley, California. Co-founded in 1997 with Dan Miller, The Roda Group is currently focused on investment opportunities that address the consequences of climate change, increasing demand for low carbon energy, and stress on the Earth’s natural resources. They are lead investors in mOasis which has developed a polymer-based soil amendment that increases water and nutrient retention around the roots of plants, and in Inventys, which has developed a post-combustion CO2 capture technology for power plants.


The Roda Group is the lead investor in Solazyme (NASDAQ:SZYM), a renewable oil and bioproducts company and the leader in algal biotechnology. Biofuels Digest named Solazyme as the Hottest Bioenergy Company of the Year. The Roda Group has successfully incubated companies that were sold to Hewlett Packard, Logitech, and American Greetings.


Mr. Strauch was the first CEO and former chairman of Ask Jeeves (now Ask.com), a leading search engine on the web. He was a board member and former CEO of Symmetricom, a public telecommunications equipment manufacturer. In 1983 he co-founded TCSI Corp., a telecom software company. As TCSI’s chairman and CEO, Mr. Strauch led the company from a start-up to a successful IPO in 1991 and secondary public offering in 1996.


Mr. Strauch is a member of the Engineering Dean’s College Advisory Boards of the University of California at Berkeley and Cornell University. He is the recipient of the 2002 Wheeler Oak Meritorious Award from the University of California at Berkeley. In 2006, Mr. Strauch and his wife Dr. Julie Kulhanjian were named and honored as “Builders of Berkeley.” He is an executive member of the Board of Trustees of the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute and the Berkeley Repertory Theatre, a member of the Advisory Board to the Yale Institute of Biospheric Studies and a member of the Madison Council, a philanthropic advisory board to the Librarian of Congress. He is also on the Board of Trustees of the Northside Center for Child Development, a mental health social services agency in Harlem, New York City.


Mr. Strauch endowed the Roger A. Strauch Chair in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, co-founded the William Saroyan Endowment for Armenian Studies at the University of California, Berkeley, and is the Chairman of the Paros Foundation, which supports arts and education organizations in Armenia.


Mr. Strauch hold two US patents in wireless communications and has earned engineering degrees from Cornell (BS) and Stanford (MS) Universities.


Kevin P. Huber

Kevin Huber is President and CEO of The Grupe Company and represents the Maxwell Family Trust, a major Game Ready shareholder. During the The Grupe Company’s 30-year history, it has created over 50 communities and actively manages residential and commercial assets valued at more than $500,000,000.


Henry Kay

Henry Kay is Group Vice President of New Market Development/Strategic Planning, Endosurgery at Boston Scientific Corporation (BSC), where he also serves on the Endosurgery Board. Henry’s group is responsible for strategic planning and supplementing internal R&D through identification and assessment of external investment and acquisition opportunities.


Richard Santore, MD

Dr. Santore is a Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at UCSD (Vol.), President and CEO of Orthopaedic Medical Group of San Diego, and the Founder and Director of the San Diego Hip Preservation Center. He is the past Chief of Staff of the 1,200 Physicians of Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego where he led the medical staff during the implementation of the electronic medical records, the opening of a new hospital and a successful Joint Commission full review.


He is a Harvard trained (Massachusetts General Hospital) orthopaedic surgeon who specialized in hip and knee surgery and is one of the world’s leading authorities on hip dysplasia and osteotomy surgery of the hip. He is a member of the Hip Society, Knee Society, International Hip Society, American College of Surgeons, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Orthopaedic Research Society, and the American College of Physician Executives.


He has been a visiting professor or speaker at universities and academic meetings all over the world and serves as a director or president of numerous professional societies and not-for-profit organizations and foundations.


Among his interests are spending time with his beloved wife of 35 years, current events, golf, fly-fishing, philanthropy, travel and fine dining. He is a member of the San Diego Yacht Club, the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club, the Harvard Club and the UCSD Faculty Club.
